Research shows families who are supported by a trained doula experience:
- 50% fewer Cesarean Sections
- 25% shorter labors
- 40% less use of pitocin
- 30% less use of narcotics
- 30% less use of forceps
- 60% fewer requests for epidurals
- Improved breastfeeding and bonding
- More satisfaction with the birth process
Doulas are so effective at providing emotional and physical support for birthing women and their families that Dr. John H. Kennell has said, “If a doula were a drug it would be unethical not to use it.”

Attend a virtual, interactive CAPPA labor doula training January 21-23 (Fri-Sun) 12-6 ET.
Tuition is $500, which includes the comprehensive two-day training, the CAPPA manual, and mentoring with Julie Brill, IBCLC, CLD, CCCE.
All WellPregnancy students are invited to join the WellPregnancy Facebook support group.
When possible, WellPregnancy will refer certifying doulas to families seeking doula support. Click here to learn what students are saying about these trainings. Learn the top ten reasons to take a WellPregnancy training.
Don't let distance be a barrier to attending! Many students travel to attend. I can help you find a roommate and suggest local accommodations.
"I have found in Julie a trainer that is a true teacher. She really cares about the work you do AFTER the training, and will follow up with you for years. I have gone to her for professional advice in all aspects since taking two of her trainings and am so grateful. Thank you Julie!!"
